Jake Burden began his training at The Hammond School for Dance, UK and went on to receive his Diploma from Elmhurst School for Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet. During his time as a student Jake toured the UK as a guest dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet. A highlight of his time in the UK was performing ‘Sing Sing Sing’ at Windsor Castle for the British Royal family.

Directly after graduating Jake Burden performed Swan Lake as a guest artist with Boca Ballet Theatre, USA.

In 2009 Jake joined Magdeburg Ballet, Germany as a soloist and was promoted to Principal at the age of 19. Jake was awarded The Young Artist of the year award in Magdeburg, Germany 2011. He danced in ballets such as Nutcracker (Prince), Don Quixote (Basilio), Romeo and Juliet (Benvolio), Graduation Ball (Drummer Boy), Giselle (peasant pas de deux), Wuthering Heights, Manon, Cinderella, Troy Game and many more. Whilst in Germany Jake also appeared in musicals including West Side story (Snowboy), Evita, Beauty and the Beast (Disney), Sunset Boulevard (Dance Captain), Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady and Jekyll and Hyde.

Jake joined Leipzig Ballet, Germany in 2013 where he appeared in the arte contemporary dance film ‘Charlie Chaplin’ by Mario Schroder.

In 2014 Jake joined Singapore Dance Theatre where we toured around Asia performing ballets such as Bitter Sweet by Natalie Weir, Fearful Symmetries by Nils Christe and Balanchine ballets such as Rubies, Allegro Brillante and Theme and Variations. Jake also danced in a special performance for the Cambodian Royalty.

Jake was invited to perform in the 2016 International Ballet gala in Germany.

Jakes teaching includes ballet and jazz classes for DM Academy, Yorkshire UK, open ballet classes associated with Singapore Dance Theatre and Newcastle Ballet Theatre.

Jake began teaching for National College of Dance in January 2016.
