Jason was a Graduate of the Australian Ballet School and during his final year, was the first Australian recipient to receive the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival Scholarship, offered by Kitty Dukakis and Melbourne City Council. This lead him to perform at the prestigious Bolshoi Theatre and was offered a place in the graduating year of the Bolshoi Ballet School.
Though he returned home for a place in the Australian Ballet and performed numerous Principal Roles Nationally and Internationally during his time there, as well as West Australian Ballet.
Jason then ditched the canvas ballet shoes for a career in Musical Theatre and toured Nationally with the Award winning production of “Hello Dolly” and continued a Commercial Career from there.
Moved to Paris to join the “Lido de Paris”, then returned home to a freelance career with Agent in toe to perform with home grown stars such as: Kylie Minogue, Tina Cousins, Jimmy Barnes and toured nationally with Christine Anu and Rhonda Burchmore.
He then opted for a career on the high seas working his way to Dance Captain and Company Manager for Princess Cruises. Along with Norwegian Cruise Lines under the world renowned productions of “Jean Ann Ryan Productions”.
Another move back to Paris for his final contract before retiring at the Royal Palace in Kirrwiller, for “Oui J’adore”. Where he was Dance Captain under the reign of Bor Productions, RIP Kim Bor.
He then returned home to take on the huge role of Resident Choreographer of “Jersey Boys” for its successful Australian and NZ tour before making the move to Brisbane to teach at Full Time Institutions and Performing Arts Schools where he developed a keen eye for upcoming talent and nurturing future stars of today!
Jason is now a freelance Dance Educator teaching at numerous Performing Arts Institutions including National and International Adjudication. He’s had a deep association with “Shore Summer School for Boys” in Sydney, where he took on as acting Artistic Director under the guidance of Christian Tatchev and Queensland Ballet in 2019. Jason’s 2020 is bright heading the “Australian Boys Dance Academy” for Stage School Australia, along with the new Diploma Course in Musical Theatre alongside Cara Dinley.
