Nirvana James-Ricci completed a double degree at the University of NSW. Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and Bachelor of Education (Dance, Theatre and Performance Studies). She has also travelled internationally as a professional dancer. She is an RAD registered teacher and holds her ‘Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies’ with ‘The Royal Academy of Dance’ and is also a member of the ATOD organization.
Nirvana James-Ricci is also an experienced Secondary School Dance and Drama teacher, she has an outstanding student achievement record. Nirvana has tutored at the University of Wollongong where she was Dance Specialist for Creative Arts in Education. Nirvana has choreographed award winning items at Regional, State and National level competitions, eisteddfods, spectaculars and festivals.
Nirvana owns a Dance School on the NSW South Coast. Many of her students have gone on to either study dance or pursue careers in the Dance industry. This includes but is not limited to; Australian Ballet Interstate Training Program, Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional program, Victorian College of the Arts, Austinmer Dance Theatre, ACPI Dance Education, UNSW Dance Education, Opera Australia, Federation University Musical Theatre.
Nirvana is passionate about Dance and its importance in the development of well rounded human beings. She loves teaching students dance but also finds great satisfaction in mentoring, supporting and training existing and future teachers. She is an avid learner and enjoys developing her own knowledge and understanding of the world of dance and education. Nirvana is a Mummy to one delightful little toddler, who loves dancing and tapping away with her at home.
