Paul Kemp is a professionally experienced and qualified dancer, teacher and choreographer within the creative and performing arts world. Paul began his training at the age of four with some of Australia’s most influential teachers.
Paul Kemp is a fully qualified teacher and a member of the British Ballet Organization, being the first male teacher in Australia to gain his classical ballet diploma. Paul has also acquired honours with a diploma of in ‘Les Griffith Tap dance association’. In 2014 he also became a fully trained member with the Australian Dance Adjudicators Association.
Paul has been trained in Classical Ballet RAD/BBO, Tap Dancing LGTDA, Jazz ATCDA, Street Funk, Hip Hop, National Dance RAD/BBO and acting and singing with the Australian Theatre for Young People. During his career, Paul has had the opportunity to work with Ben Vereen, Anthony Walow, Mary Wilson, Danni Minoque, Kerri-Anne Kennelly, Bert Newton, Heath Ledger, Al Matino, Jimmy Summerville, Human Nature and Dominique Allan.
Paul’s amazing career has not only taken him throughout Australia, but across the world entertaining audiences on a global scale. Paul’s career thus far has provided him with opportunities to perform in shows such as, Rhythm 2000, Circus of Wonders, I’ll take Manhattan, Madame Firefly, Grease the Arena Spectacular, That’s Broadway, A Night on the Town, Tin Pan Alley, Showstoppers, Live at the Copa, Imaginique, Disney’s Plane Crazy, Who Dunnit, Club Diamond Caper, Circus Express and the Black and White Minstrel Show.
Paul has also had a bright career in Cruise ship productions on cruise liners such as The Costa Romantica, Majesty of the Sea’s, Fair Princess, Sydney Showboats and Sovereign of the Sea’s.
Not only has Paul had an abundant theatre career, he has also had a successful television and film career appearing on television shows/commercials and in films such as, Kerrie-Anne Midday, Cairns Central ‘Valentines Day’ TVC, Two Hands, Toyota TVC, Cross Roads, Oak Milk TVC, E Street, Video Smash Hits TVC, New Faces and Home and Away.
Paul’s experience also extends to photographic and fashion shows such as, Grace Bros Spring Catalogue, Good Weekend Magazine, Pierre Cardin Fashion Launch, R.E.S Wrapped in Natural Fibres. He has been involved in conventions such as, Hair Expo, Xerox, Heat Awards and State Ballroom Championships.
Paul is an experienced choreographer, who has been the artistic director for performances such as Snow White, Aladdin, Some Like it Hot (cabaret show) ,Carousel, Free Zone Dance Workshop and has worked with Brent Street School of Performing Arts.
Paul is currently the owner and Principal of a successful dance studio, which in 2013 was ranked in the top 5% of studios in the Australasian countries. His dedication and love of dance has led him to pursue a successful and lifelong career in the performing arts world.
