My name is Wendy Peterson. I have danced since I was 3 years old and have many years experience in many forms of dancing. I was a student of Doreen Carr for many years who was formerly a student of Jesse Brownlie. I have also trained in singing and drama. !
I was employed as a dance teacher for Doreen Carr for seven years and I have now had my own studio for 45 years teaching students concert and eisteddfod work. Many of my students have won championships and Scholarships as well as having much success in group competitions. Many of my students were chosen to appear in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, the 2014 International Children’s Games and also many shows in our local area. !
Types of dancing I have studied are as follows:
* Classical Ballet (R.A.D.)
* Tap (L.G.T.D.A.)
* National Character
* Demi Character
* Irish and Highland Dancing !
I have also appeared in many musicals working for John Layman Productions and Colin Chapman including:
* Paint you wagon
* Anything goes
* Country girl
* The boyfriend
* Song of Norway
* Can can
* Rhapsody Blue
I also appeared in the opening of NBN TV, Channel 3 Newcastle with the Tempo Dancers. I have had the pleasure of dancing solo with the late Les Griffith. When Les Griffith began his own tap syllabus (L.G.T.D.A.), I sat for and passed al of the exams and I am now a qualified L.G.T.D.A. tap examiner. !
